Part 2 of ‘Things you didn’t know about Iran Trotter’

The popular Iranian ecotourism series host comments on the show; part 2.

The Iran Trotter host Javad Qaraei has offered so many interesting tips about the show and himself, in response to journalistic questions during interviews with local media outlets. Here is part 2 of his comments.

Professionals tell me ‘Iran Trotter’ has affected other documentarians’ ways of filmmaking. I’m glad about that.

The reason people honestly deal with me and intimately tell me about their lives is the love I bring to filmmaking. I do that eagerly.

I don’t shoot the doc over my first trip. Actually, after several visits to the area, and taking people gifts, they start to trust me; and you can see the outcome in the films.

There’s never been a single place where people didn’t let me record their lives. They’ve always openly welcomed me.

People’s reaction to what they see in the final work aired on TV is encouraging. They say they can’t believe what they see, i.e. quality pictures recorded from their lives.

Another reason they’re ready to meet me with open arms is that I believe their lifestyle is better than ours in the city; and they feel the humbleness emanating from my belief. I respect them indeed.

We keep in touch with the people after the program is shot, and they sometimes even come to my house in Tehran, or I visit them back in their homes. Now, the entire nation is my home, and you know that Iranians are world famous for their hospitality. I belong to no city. I am an Iran born.
